The Bay Area Bike Swap Festival is a one-day bike celebration that includes a main SWAP (day-of consignment), booths from local bike shops, gear vendors, bicycle organizations, food trucks, local beer, music, kid and adult bicycle clinics, educational bicycle programing, group rides and a whole lotta sweet raffle prizes and fun.

What's for sale? Everything from new bikes and gear, to classics straight from personal collections.  We have both established bike shops and independent sellers present.

Proceeds from the raffle and swap (bike) registration fees will benefit The Bay Area Bike Project (BABP) , which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that mobilizes people through the Power of Bicycles.  BABP is committed to getting more kids on bikes, bike education and advocating for safe biking communities. COMMISSION RATE

If you have a working bike or gear you want to sell, but don't want to rent a booth, we offer individual-item consignment. We will try to sell your bike or gear for you for a fee ($10 plus 10% of the selling price with a maximum fee of $300 ). If you have multiple items to sell you’re also welcome to rent your own vendor booth for $100 (SEE REGISTRATION).

To sell your bike or gear on consignment:  

  • Complete the pre-registration form (link below)

  • Pay $10 per item at drop-off (cash or Venmo)

  • Bring your bike to the swap between 7:30 am - 9:00 a.m. NOTE: late bikes cannot be accepted

  • Return between 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. that same day, to check if your bike/gear sold  (unless you opted for donation, if your item does not sell, you need to pick up your bike/gear before 4:00 p.m.).  

  • Any items not picked up by 4:00 p.m. will be considered a donation. THERE ARE NO LATE PICK-UPS.

  • There will also be an option at drop-off to donate all of your earned sale funds to Bay Area Bike Project (instead of receiving payment for your sold item). 

  • Payment, less the commission, will be provided to Consignor by mail-only, within 14 days of sale.

  • Bay Area Bike Swap (BABS) is making a great effort to secure donated and consigned items, however BABS is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged bikes/gear.

BUYER RESOURCES

  • Browse a huge selection of Bikes, Kid’s Bikes, Parts, Apparel, Gear and More — new and used — you never know what gems you’ll discover!

  • Many bikes will be available for test riding in small secure area. It’s noted on the tag if the Seller will allow test rides. BYOH – You must bring your own helmet to test ride a bike. Your helmet will be inspected for safety issues and a waiver must be signed prior to test riding.

  • Mechanics from local shops on duty to help check safety issues.

  • Volunteers ready to assist and answer questions.

  • Check out with cash or card.

  • No returns. All sales final. But you can sell it at next year’s Swap

UNSOLD ITEMS

  • Please pick up unsold consigned items on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from  2pm to 4pm ONLY.

  • NO EARLY UNSOLD ITEM PICK-UP.

  • Any items not picked up by 4PM Sunday, May 1st, 2022 will be considered a donation to the Bay Area Bike Swap.
